You know theres a lot of good products out there for your needs but the real result will be in the application and the tools used. I would not recommend buffing the tins unless you know hat your doing and cover the engine, chrome and remove the seat. Work by hand and work slowly. Black is a bitch and worse yet that showroom magazine perfect lookonly lasts for one ride. After that its a slow decrease back to where you began. My EGC is Black and I ride the **** out it first and cleaning itis my secondary priorty. But man when its right I ALMOST enjoy looking at it as much as I do riding it. Almost but not quite.

Work by hand and leave the buffers to those that have experience. It is extremely easy to catch an edge and burn the paint...........

You cannot burn the paint with a PC orbital buffer. It is not the same buffer that a detailer will use. If you press too hard on this one, the pad stops. It is also a true variable speed random orbital so it will not get hot and burn in one spot.

I agree that hand buffing is safe and it does work fairily well most times. Until I used one of these, that is what I did. Now, I'll never go back. If you have the money to invest, you too will be singing the praises of the PORTER CABLE 7424.

In the past I literally worked my a$$ off to get the results I can get in minutes with this buffer. I guess at my age I'm looking for an easier, more effective way and I'm willing to spend the money for it. That's why I spent $300 for a blow dryer for my bike and I must have nearly that much invested in the PC and the different buffing pads.

JMO, enough for now.

o7 try going to www.properautocare.com they also carry mc stuff. I have bought many products from them and they work super on both my black cherry ultra and my black ford mustang.

Check the 'detailing' section of this forum, if you don't you could regret any decisions you make!

I try to keep it as nice as possible. It just seems to never end. So now I consider small scratches the inevitable when riding a lot. Maybe I should just take off the tins and buy a primered set of tins and use them. (joking).
