SE203 vs. SE211 Cams

211 cams
I just done the se hydrolic tensioner/ high flow oil pump upgrade on my 04 standard softail with 211 cams.. With the intention to do a big bore kit and pick the c.r up down the track .
For a near stock 88ci the cams don't make a huge hp jump.. But they sound mad..
Makes your motor sound very angry, they r still a lot better than stock cams, can't wait to do a bb kit and c how they react to a little more comp..
All said and done I am very happy with the upgrade.. It's a bIt lazy on starting sometimes .. Still very happy with it..

Service Manager at my local dealer recommended the 211's as well so I went with them along with the hydraulic tensioner upgrade, new lifters and adjustable pushrods. This was late last year and the bike would scream after 3000 RPM. Thought it was a terrific choice intil I got to the mountains and realized that that cam choice had nothing below 2800 RPM. All the research I did here after the fact pointed to the SE211's being a poor choice for heavy baggers because of the late intake close. I'd have to agree from my own personal experience
...lot of fun at high RPM, but nothing down low.
Took the bike to a local indy a few months later and had Andrews 21's put in. Much better choice for my style of riding since I head to the mountains all the time!
