RE: 2005 Ultra - How do you remove the seat to get at the Battery?
Thanks - All this good information was helpful and we did get it off - The seat!! I agree with replacing it with a Hex Head screw. I will be at the hardware store tomorrow. Also, Torx No. 40 to take the battery Hold down off is required. Battery Tender is going on too!! As for DW2169's user name photo, I just turned my screen upside-down and my neck didn't hurt near as much. Worst part of helping him out with this dead battery.... he told mehe was planning to sell the Ultra and would be buying a Harley Trike. So...... now I own three Harleys!!! Does anyone want to buy a mint FAT BOY \ Fatboy?? [8D]

I'll add this. I changed the screw to a HD thumbscrew. Easy on& off , no tools required nor will you accidentally scratch the rear fender with the screwdriver or wrench.
Also, if you have the strap, throw it away, no one ever uses it. The chrome handles are equally usless, Hd doen't put them on at the factory anymore .
