The road king hi bar is nice for bolt on bars. Had them on for 3 years then I went with the wild1 12.5 and love the feel and the look.

Can't tell you about the Heritage, but the 10" Wild One's apes had to have drive by wire extensions. My 08 RKC had drive by wires with only 2" maybe 3" of extra wires. They were easy to do. the best part of the 10" apes was, I did not need to extend either the brake or the clutch lines. Just the wires. Both sides wires. Including drive by wire.

Boy, did you dig up an old post.

I ended up putting the RK high bars on and they are perfect! Didn't care for the look or feel of the heritage bars. Just my opinion, though.......
i am in the very near future going to change mine out. i to get the feeling of leaning down on the bars. but still what is the differance in the RK high bar compared to the heritage bars? how do they sit, higher lower set back closer to you?
They just feel different, but the main thing I didn't care for is that they need to be leaned back to feel right and then it looks odd. Because they are more of an ape style bar, the grips are more of an "in the wind" style, so they don't have the pull back needed; thus you need to lean them back to achieve the pull back. Also they are narrow at the triple tree and don't fit the FL look when installed. The RK high bars are designed for the FL front end. The RK high bar has 8 inches of rise and the ends are just a bit narrower as they don't flare as much as the stock bars did, but I love the feel and they don't give me the "wheel barrow" feel I was worried about. AllI can say is I did a ton of asking, looking and bugging of people on here and am very happy with the choice I made. That being said, not everyone will be as happy do to differences in body sizes and shapes. For $40, you can't loose!

I've had heritage bars on my '03 Road King Classic for three years....never regretted it for a minute. You would like it.

2000eaglerider,

I noticed your avatar is an 08RG. Did you do a bar change on that bike?

I bought a set of Heritage bars for my roadking but they seemed a little narrow. I opted for a set of 10" apes and ran my wires through them. I have road in excess of 500 miles in a day and felt as good as when I started. And they look good too..

Just put a set of 56902-08 on my 08 road king classic these are the police bars talked about here. It was a breeze 1.5 hours from start to finish and no extentions needed plug and play. It is what the MOCO should do from factory it is ergonomicly correct nuetral wrist possision and back against riders back rest as it should be. I am 5'7" and I was leaning forward on stock bars. No mods. nessesary no extentions and a breeze to do. Best $60 bucks spent.
