All due respect, the 5" windshield I got from them was crap. The edges were rough and uneven. No where close to the quality of a FastAire. I emailed them just to let them know of my disappointment in their product, not asking for anything. They never bothered to respond.

Since I dont even have my SG yet, and it won't be delivered until March, can I ask just how easy or how hard it is to change windshields on a SG?

I have a windshield in just about every size there is. It depends on your height, torso length vs legs etc. I also believe the real "chopped" look stops at 6-6.5", but I do have an opaque 7" Cee Bailey standard shaped shield that works for me 80% of the time. At 6' I've found it to be the near perfect size. If I'm going for a long ride, (over 200 miles or so), I usually either put the 9" Cee Bailey standard shape, or the 13" Cee Bailey SSC on the bike. The latter will give you the ulitmate in wind protection. Check them out at www.ceebaileys.com.

Very easy. The three bolts at the top of the fairing need to be loosend. The first time you will need to gently pull the fairing loose a bit due to the glue that was applied for the stock shield. It kind of sucks to do that, cause it does serve a purpose, but if you swap shields out as often as I do, it's a must. Some windshields, due to the design of the inserts over the bolts, require you to remove the screw completely, (Clearview, Cee Bailey SSC), but most just need to be loosend.

Since I see you have impeccable tastes in bikes and colors ( I ordered the exact same '08 with ABS) I will take your word for it and order the Clearview re-curve I have me eye on.

you need to figure WS height, Seat Height, and the type of Helmet you use.

I'm only 5'!0", but I need to use a 9.5 Clearview recurve to control buffeting to a acceptable amount.

My HJC sits up in the air quite a bit. If I use a brain bucket, I can get away with just an 8" WS.

Wife and I both have 6 1/2" HDsmoked. The ride is not like a Mustang Convertible, but the wind blockage is adaquate and the look is still there.
