MPG? BIKE? WHERE U LIVE?

My bike was advertised as 54 mpg for 2011 models. http://www.totalmotorcycle.com/photo...lideCustom.htm
Just because you, and FDHOG can't do it, don't even try to tell me I can't. There are a lot of people who get this kind of mileage.
1 picture..... 1000 words. 6 gallon tank ....... remaining miles left.......... you do the math.

I rest my case. Some people drive/ride like grandma.
For the rest of us, 50mpg is highly unlikely.

This is from my earlier post .... as you can see I said 46 mpg on interstates..... that generally is a lot more than 55.
"50 mpg 2 lane highway 55 mph
46 mpg Interstates goin with the flow
44 city stop and go"
I live in Illinois. I run the speed limit. I use non-ethanol gas.
I don't ride like I stole it. It's a TOURING BIKE. I ride it like I want to keep it.
I get 50 mpg on a regular basis..... not my problem that you can't.

I plan on keeping my bike a while too, that's why I keep it well maintained.
It's just funny that when guys I ride with tell me they're getting 50 mpg and they stop for gas just as often as me and get the same amount of fuel.
Never complained about my mpg considering my boat gets 2.5mpg.

Non ethanol might have something to do with it. Also the fact that I ride two up about 50% of the time. I don't ride like I stole it, but I would call it "spirited".

I never ride 2 up (wife has her own bike). I use the cruise control a lot.
When I leave the house for a ride, I have 1/4 mile and I'm out of town.
The guys you ride with probably do get 50 mpg....... just not when they ride (spirited) with you

I seem to get 35 MPG no matter how much I twist the throttle. 10 % corn in all the gas in my area of pa.before they put the ethinol in all the gas I got around 40. So not only is that **** bad for an engine it makes it cost more to run it . Now they are starting to go up to 15% . So I'll be looking at 30 MPG in the future.
