Default Slip on leak?

Hey everyone. I just installed a pair of V&H Ovals slip ons, and fuelpak. Soundsgreat compared to the stock mufflers on the 06 RKC. I felt with my hand under the where they slip over the header pipe, and I can feel equal amounts of exhaust pushing out on both sides. I imagine it is not supposed to do this. Am I missing something? Are they not tight enough? Any help would be GREAT, thanks.

You should not feel any exhaust leak. I used Permatex Ultra Copper silicone for High temperature and it sealed the fit right up. No exhaust leak now.

The V&H clamps suck, period. Throw a set of the HD torca clamps on there and tighten 'em down and you won't have leaks.

Are those the stock clamps or are those an upgrade?

I just tightened mine down good and tight, but you can torque them according to the manual if you desire.

Use new HD clamps and torque them. I think the manual calls for 60 ft. lbs. I was suprised how hard I had to pull on a 1/2" drive torque wrench to get there. With Rush mufflers I went to 75 lbs. to get them to seal and the bolt didn't break but I'll bet it was close.
