How come the "stealers" don't haggle about price? In the past 2 months I have hit every HD shop within 300 miles looking at the EG classic. The price ranged from MSRP to over $19000. ???? They just look at you like you lost your mind and the white coat guys brought you. I mean this is a basic touring bike. No financing or trade ins, just me and my checkbook. One salesman said that is the way it is. lol. so much for my business going to a dealer in Birmingham,AL. grrrrrrrrrrrr just venting. [:@]
The dealer I've bought all 3 of my bikes from sells everything at MSRP with no dealing on the price of the bike. If you was buying a Sportster or Dyna you might be able to cut a deal, buying a bagger is something else. The EG Std, EG Classic and Ultra flies off the sales floor around here, Road Kings move pretty good Heritage Softails are scarce. If you want a Fat Boy, Softail Deluxe, any Dyna, Sportster or Vrod there are stackes of them.

Basic Econimcs 101

Supply vs Demand

The bike is worth whatever some one will pay for it and they know someonw will give them MSRP. I bought a 2005 from and individual for considerably less than it cost new and couldn't be happier. Good luck with your search.

Liam51 is right. If you can wait until the end of July that is a great time to buy. I tried buying around March and then again in June, both times I haggled hard and walked away. I showed up on July 30th and the bikes were sailing out that day. I got my Road King for $500 under msrp and that included tax&lic no set up or destination fee ( pure dealer profit). My salesman said they had to get rid of them because what they receive for next year is based on what they sell by the end of July. In the 3 1/2 hours I was there I watched 5 other bikes go out the door. We are lucky around here, I have four dealers within an hour of my house and 3 more if I want to drive another hour. All I can say is be patient and be willing to walk and wait[:@]

Cash means nothing to these guys. They are going to get paid, cash, cheque , financing, it really makes no difference to them except for they probably prefer to finance you in house because they will get some kind of commision (kickback) from the finance company.

I bought my bike in August 04 for MSRP. I shopped all the dealers in TN and Boswells one the fight. What I did save on was a lot of labor. I bought the chrome front end, Rider backrest and security system. I did not pay any labor on any of the installs. They gave me 4 shirts (2 short sleeve t-shirts and 2 long sleeve t-shirts) also. When you buy from there you also get a coupon for $50.00 off the 1000 mile service too. They provided great customer service and I drove 3 hours to pick up my bike. I worked the deal on the phone because my friend bought from them many times and they trusted him so they automatically trusted me. It was awesome.

I have been back many times since then and they remember my name each time I come back. Oh yeah....they have a cool diner in the dealer that has great food too.

Good luck.
