RE: Tour box,saddlebag trim kit
Being I spend a lot of time on ebay buying parts, I have come to realize there are a bunch of idiots that don't think before they buy, or they don't know what the price of a new part is.
I followed the ad for a riders backrest bracket that sells new at the dealership for $20.00. The last time I saw the add, some idiot was gonna pay $38 plus $10 shipping.
When I bid on parts, I have the parts manual for correct fitment of the part I am going to bid on, and the HD accessory catalog so I know what a new part costs.
The other ad that had me laughing was a vest patch of a Black & White diamond with the 1% insignia on it someone listed it under Hells Angels. Last time I saw it,the bid was up to $38 plus shipping. Only problem, it wasn't a HA patch being their items are Red & White. Not black and white.
I saw the ad you referred to about the Trim Kits. One for a windshield, one for the saddlebags, and the other one for the tour pack.
If the seller can get some bozo to pay that much for the kit, I say "GO FOR IT".
People need to do their homework and know what they are buying before they buy it.
That same trim molding is sold by a company called Trim Lok. http://www.trimlok.com/
You can get the 5/16" molding being sold on ebay in clear, black, chrome or gold. I was going to get some through Trim Lok but now after reading your post, it may be cheaper to got to Auto Zone. Thanks for the heads up on the molding.
Anyone can got to ebay and search item number 110208847845 to see what the trim looks like on a bike. Check out their sellers other items for sale for the saddlebag and tour pack kit.
