Ok call me stupid but here goes. I have a 07 EGC and I have heard so much about upgrades and downloads for these bikes. My question is what is a stage 1 upgrade or kit? Is it worth it what does it do? Can I do it? and how much does it cost?

 

Stage 1 is an SE air cleaner kit or comparable hi flow kit and pipes, slip-ons, etc. It basically is the high flow air cleaner that makes it a stage 1

Yes it is worth it

It makes the scoot run better and faster

Yes you can do it.

The SE kit cost $139.95. Plus whatever slip ons or pipes you want to throw on.

Example: SE kit $139.95, Rush slip ons $250.00= Stage 1

However, once you change the air cleaner to a high flow then you need a remap of the ECM or install a fuel management system like the SERT (race tuner) The race tuner will set you back $460. A stage 1 download from the dealer will cost you $150.

 

STAGE 1 - WOULD BE CHANGING THE MUFFLERS OR COMPLETE EXHAUST SYSTEM - AIR KIT (LIKE NESS BIG SUCKER - SE OR K&N) - AND A FUEL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM ( V&H FUELPAK - SERT - POWERCOMMANDER III - T MAX - ETC)

STAGE 1 YOU'LL INCREASE THE AIR FLOW - RICHEN THE FUEL SYSTEM & OPEN UP THE EXHUST - INCREASED PERFORMANCE - BETTER SOUND - REDUCES HEAT BUILD UP..

COST WILL DEPEND ON WHAT YOU WANT TO INSTALL - CAN YOU DO IT... SURE...

You'll also need a FUEL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM - I would highly recommend a Vance & Hines FUELPAK - one of the most user friendly easy to set-up on the market.... Check-out E-Bay they're around $229.00 there - But this is a limited system - They work GREAT for a Stage 1...

 

SoCal Pappy is right on target, that set up works great and is real easy to install. Have it on my ultra very satisfied.
