Default 2008 ultra excessive vibration

my ultra seems to vibrate excessively while at idle. I've been told this is normal. does anyone out there have the same problem. the bike runs fine at cruising speeds, but at idle the entire bike shakes from end to end.

My 08 Road King vibrates when I pull the clutch in or while I'm stopped. It doesnt really bother me because it runs so smooth when I get on the gas. The vibrations are just a reminder that we have almost 1600cc's between our legs.

Not sure what you mean by excessively - my RKC has a nice shake at idle which I think is "by design". I have a buddy with a Softail/counterbalanced engine which is very smooth at idle. Personally, I like the "pulsing" idle of the Touring model.

I would compare it to another bike or check with the dealer to see if your vibration is abnormal. Of course the dealer will probably tell you it's "normal" regardless of whether it is or isn't.

I also own a 2003 Gold Wing which has no vibration whatsoever. Nice but my Road King feels like a real motorcycle. I love the feel of the big V-Twin!

This may sound crazy. What fluid are you running in the tranny?
SYN3 in the tranny, you will feel vibration in your seat.

Welcome to the non-counterbalanced engine world; it is normal.
