Default Sacramento area dyno tuner recommendations

I'm thinking of installing a SERT on an 08 Ultra and wondered if anyone had recommendations for good tuners in the Sacramento area. My dealer is offering a package deal with Rinehart TD's, SE AC, SERT and a full 5 hour dyno tune for $1995. I'm not sure I'll go with the Rineharts, maybe SE Touring exhausts. But I think the SERT may be worth it to reduce heat issues.

Thanks.

I'm not sure of any in that area but I know RC Cycles in Hayward is Highly recommended by a lot of people. They tuned my bike and I'm very satified. It may be worth the trip.

Which dealer are you referring to? The one over by Arden way? Folsom Harley tuned my buddies 07 S/G with R/H T/D ect... they told him to save his money because their tunner has installed so many r/h t/d set-ups they know exactly where to put the sert and dont need to dyno them anymore. so far....I can say I have had good service from them but I personally have not had my bike tuned yet.

The dealer I was referring to was Sac HD. Of course this info was from a sales guy that swore the techs used all 5 hours to do a correct tune. I don't know what it is that they do for 5 hours.

I seriously doubt they will spend 5 hours tuning a package that they are running on a special. They probably have created a MAP that they install on the bike when these parts are purchased as a package. That is not to say it will be a bad tune, just that you might not be getting as good a deal as they want you to believe.

Buy a Thunder-Max install yourself (easy) and you can saveabout $700 and you can skip the dyno. I bought my last two bikes from Rocklin HD and have yet to visit their service facility. Good Luck.

Thundermax for a 08. I don't think anything but the SERT is out yet for the 08s. Is their a mandatory 5 hrs required for a good dyno? Would'nt a good tuner finish quicker?

I had my 08 UC dynoed when the SERT, SE A/C, and V&H slip-ons were put on. It took the tuner about 3 hours, he did a few runs to set up and tweek the SERT, then took it out for a test ride and finally another couple runs to make a few small adjustments. The tuner said it usually takes 5-6 runs on the dyno to get a SERT really dialed in.
