RE: How many use different seats for different rides?
I put a Mustang touring seat on my '06 Street Glide which is a big improvement, especially for my wife. I had intended to swap to the stock seat for shorter rides because I was concerned about looks, but I think the Mustang actually looks better than the stock seat.

I have my stock roadglide seat which is very comfortable for me. I have a badlander for looking good and short rides (see picture below) and I bought an Ultra Comfort Stitch seat off Ebay last summer for those long rides with the wife. I hate the ultra seat because it messes up the lines of the bike. My wife hates the badlander seat because she says it fits like a thong.

I debated running multiple seats for a while. I had a 1 piece touring seat that was super comfortable for the Mrs and me, but didn't do it for me in the looks department when the tour pak came off.
I didn't want to deal with moving the bars and the highway pegs to get comfortable each time I switched seats if I decided to go that route. I spend most of my time with my feet on the highway pegs instead of the boards and I knew running different seats would cause me to contantly have to readjust the pegs and bars.
I wound up going with a Lepera Monterey touring seat that I had custom fitted by them to fit me exactly. This stays on 100% of the time and is a solo seat, that leaves the entire rear fender free and clean and gives me the "look" I wanted, it also let me dial in the pegs and Bars to fit me just the way I needed them to.
I got the matching passenger pillion from Lepera which is a full 14" wide for the Mrs. Now when she wants to ride, I can just slap the big pillion and the full tour pak on and she is as comfortable as when we had the 1 piece touring saddle.
May not work for everyone, but it fit's my needs.
