Default Saddlebag lid covers

Anybody had any experience with the things? I was thinking about a pair for my 08 FLHR. Any negatives? Dull the paint etc? Who makes the best ones?

DO NOT DO IT!! I had the wife's boots tap the right lid every now and then, so I thought I would try a set out. After a 1500 mile trip, those damn things wore right through the paint. Never again!

Timely Post, Santa brought me a pair of HD bag covers (bra). Has anyone had trouble with these harming the paint job on their bags?

I use the lid haulers by ride tek. They work well and protect the paint.

The HD Covers if install right WORKS & Looks good... I do take mine off about every month or so and put down a good hard wax on the lids... They show NO wear or Paint\clear loss & protect the lids from foot damage from the Grandkids and the wife's..

After reviews I am going to purchase the covers from ridetek. Personally I like the style better then MOCO. Also it appears, again from reviews, more dissatisified people with the company covers. just my .02

I have the MOCO cover's and they work great. They keep the wife from scratching the tops with her finger nails.

I have the HD covers and use them on trips whent he OL is going. They certainly have prevented many roadside, gas stop domestic disputes. Personally, I prefer the way the HD ones fit over the other ones out there.

Had a set of the H/D lid covers on my 02 EGlide and never hurt the paint in any way . Usually removed them every so often to wax the lids down real good, but never left any marks. New owner still has them on to this day . A little bit of a pita to install, but ok otherwise .
