I just put a set on my RG. Took a short ride did not have an issue. I usually just move my foot afew inches straight ahead to operatethefront brake, not at an angle.Pulled them off to give to the painter, can't be riding around with unmatched lower fairings.
It should not take you very long to get used to it. I didn't have any trouble when I had my Ultra.

I also at first have the same problem, but I got it in no time, my boot scratchs the right lower fairing allways, also rest at it lol

when i transitioned from my RK to the UC it was a problem for me as well....after about 5 days on the road i finallymentally adjusted to how i approach tha brake pedal with my foot, now it feels natural the only prob is that when i took the lowers off for the summer there was that learning curve again!

EZ Brake Pedal and Footboard Extensions, then.............. learning curve/get use to it. My boot size is 14 EE.. LOL

Yes a learning curve. I have the EZ-Brake and that helps with the new lowers. BTW, I had to remove the EZ-Shift and go back to the stock HD front shifter on my RG. Size 12 boots and the EZ-Shift was terrible. Had to move my foot too much because my boot would hang up on the lowers.
