Go to cyclegadgets.com and see what they have for mounts and wiring. I wired my garmin 2610 to the back of the cigarette lighter under the fairing.

I attached an after market cig-lighter (I installed an with in-line fuse) to my battery and use it to power my cell phone charger and run my Zumo 550. That way when I turn off the igntion it stays on. Have had no problem.

Tap into the back of the lighter. The center is hot.

Quick easy & no power to it when the ignition is off.

I wired mine to the back of the cig lighter fist, didn't like that, ground came loose...my 07 EGC has two wires coming to the headlight socket that are not used in the US, one has a red plastic cap over it. Both have two prong conectors on them. These are hot with the key on, I was told they are for daytime running lights in Europe, can't verify that. But, they are powered. I cut the connectors off and attached the hardwire for my Zumo 550 there, works like a charm...

I think I have asked this before, or been told, but my mind is not what it use to be. What is the main difference between the 2610 and the 2720? Other than a hundred bucks, or so. Sorry for the hi jack, but I was just looking for one, and came across these, again. I would love the Zumo 450 or 550, but at the price they are, it is not going to happen. Thanks for any replies, and good luck with the install. BTW, what is the best way to wire it for a rk custom, if I am going to also use it in the truck?

I did it the same way as Casper on my Road King. Used the unused wires behind the headlight. Since the Zumo has internal batteries when you turn the bike off the Zumo will give you the option on the screen to continue running on it's batteries or will shut off in about 30 seconds.

I wired mine to the outlet under the seat that runs off the ACC switch.
