I think the toy haulers are great let me give you an example of how it made a bad situation turn out like a vacation . My wife had to have surgery in Greely CO we live about 300 miles away it was an out patiant surgey but she had to stay in the area for a weak or so .for daily checks and so We had bought a 43' toy hauler the year before well a week hanging around Greely wasnt very apealing so we found a nice camp ground out side of Loveland right at the start up the canyon going to Estes Park.loaded up the bike and the wife and we were off did the surgery every thing was great wife didnt feel much like riding thou just sleeping HA so I spent the week taking 3to 5 hour trips up and around estes park and the back to take care of the wife It turned out great some very nice riding up there

The fifth wheelers thathas the ramps that load sideways thatI've looked at was not wide enough to accomodate a bagger with a tour pack.

Buckwheat,

You might wanna consider a selfloading ramp/lift for the bed of your truck, and then stick with smaller/lighter and lots cheaper bumper pull travel trailers.

That's the way I plan to go soon.

With the selfloading ramp, I can transfer it to any truck if I trade and also be able to select from a wider range of trailers-especially those good deals on used trailers I see all the time.

Here is one example: http://motorcycletrailer.com/rampage/

I've never even SEEN one that loaded sideways. I just always thought that I didn't need the giant garage area some of them have and it would just be a waste of space. I could handle it loading from the back if maybe the bathroom or something was beside it in order to save space and keep it small enough for a 1/2 ton. Never been crazy about any of the "open" ones, I want aseperate "garage".

str01965, Keystone make several that load sideways. I have a street glide and haul it in the Keystone 23krs Kangaroo. It has 2 full size beds and sleeps 6 easy. The bedroom up front is private. It is a bitch sometimes to load because of the street glide sits low. I usually take the bags off while strapped down, but it will fit with them on. The also have a 5th wheel that has a full size and a bunk above that loads sideways in the back. Here is mine, it cost me $19k. For $1k more I could have had the 28' that had 2 slide outs. I towed it with a 1/2 ton for about a year and have since upgraded to a 3/4 ton diesel.

I have the Keystone Outback 28KRS. I bought it new from General RV in Michigan and towed it home to South Carolina with an 04 F150 with the 5.4 Triton. I load a Fat Boy in the front and have no problems loading because I lower the front of the camper as low as it will go so I don't have such an angle to go up. If you have any questions just drop me a line.

Hi there, I have a Chariot Trailer . They make a 23 foot fibreglass with a camper package. Fibreglass is very light and won't rust. This company has built two small trailers for me and both have been excellent . They tow easily behind a 5.3 Chev crew cab truck and minimal load on truck. They will custom build to your specs. The fact that I don't have to live with a large diesel truck and its extra costs and maintainance is a real plus. They are built in the Tampa area and display at Daytona . Contact Ken McLeave at ChariotTrailerInc. They were very good to me on my last trailer a low profile CS14 with a camper package. A little more to buy but the light weight and easy towing has sold me. I sold my 15 year old CS10 for more than I paid for it. Without a doubt the most valuable accessory I have ever owned. Let Ken know John Hall from Canada sent ya. I have no relationship with this company just a happy customer . Feel free to email me if you have any questions.
