RE: FYI M-1170 service bulletin
Service bulletins are free only if your scoot is in the 2 year unlimited warranty!
Recalls are safety related and are allways free no matter what the milage.
Dealerships are franchises that submit warranty claims to the Mo. Co. in order
to get paid (after the work is completed). Technical service bulletins are helpful
tips to techs that make it easier to solve problems and make beter repairs.
TSB's are not paid by the Mo. Co. once the scoot is out of warranty.
The Mo. Co. will pay for Recalls reguadless of milage.

I was told pretty much word for wordwhat Red E Glide stated. However, they did take care of it w/o charge.
+1 for Battlefield HD

Isn't Battlefield the dealership with the onsite practice range out back? We stopped @ a shop ona ride to Niagra Falls years ago, & battlefield sticks out in my mind, that had pracitce courses out back. It was a neat place and the folks were quite friendly.

2006 Ultra compensator nut came loose at 25,000 miles
Yep, have repair manual, torque wrench, etc. Pulled the entire primary to install forward controls on a ’08 Dyna. It’s not that hard to do, just a time consuming hassle. To correct the wording of my original post the service person said it would be $300 but, to fix it right would be $3,600 to replace the crank due to the spline wear caused by the rotor being loose. He said it would happen again. How he thinks he knows that is beyond me. Reading other posts, some have replaced the rotor multiple times. I looked at a Softail they had on a lift with the same problem. The spline only had very slight marring from the rotor flopping around but the rotor being thin metal, the teeth were rounded. If it happens again and I have the time, I will repair it myself and probably find the spline is in pretty good shape. I will pass on the $800 service contract.
