I just went to my local dealership and they upped the price. I was lookin into a tourpack for my SG and just the tourpack alone was an extra 70 bucks. it was weird. My question is can they do that, price over suggested retail pricing?
Call another dealer if its cheaper there let you dealer know that you will be taking your business elsewhere, I think they will have a change of heart.
I do not buy from my dealer no price break he thinks they are the only dealer out there . zanotti .chicago hd , and others give 20 percent off so I order on line!!!
Is it possible that they've added sumthin' to it ta up the price, like a bolt/quick connect kit or sumthin'? Ah'd ask THAT first, but if they're over MSRP ah'd ask "Why?" an' if the answer is goofy, ah'd walk...
To answer your question yes they can do that. All HD dealers are independent business people and can price their merchandise as they see fit. There is very little or nothing HD can do about pricing. Thats why Faytona HD for example can price an o8 ultra SE for $55,000.00 and why many dealers for years sold their bikes over MSRP.Harley couldnt do anything about that either. If you guys have questions about a dealer I can probably answer it. I hate to see so many people misinformed about what HD MOCO CAN AND CANNOT DO.
I would ask for an explanation why they are selling for more than MSRP which is clearly stated in the parts catalog. If they didn't give me the answer I wanted I would buy from another dealership.
