Default Headlight "frenched" trim ring for '07 SG

I purchased the H-D “frenched” headlight trim ring for my ’07 SG and like many others on this forum, it doesn’t fit properly. It’s a Taiwan/Chinese POS [:@] It’s being returned to the dealer tomorrow.

Has anyone purchased an aftermarket one for their Street Glide that fits correctly? If so, mfg. & part number would be helpful.

Thanks and Merry Christmas to all……

did you make sure the old ring was loose before fitting the new ring over it? I had to play around with it for a while, to ensure the new ring fit into the gap between the housing and the old ring. If you don't you will have a serious gap between the ring. Even with that, you will likely have a small gap. Agree it could be much better, but in my case, i was able to get it to fit pretty good.

To answer your question - yes. I read every thread on HD Forums, the instructions, and it still fits like crapola. I tried several times, with a beer between each attempt, and after twelve tries, I simply gave-up [:@]

I feel your pain, but it can work if you still want to use it...

I took the original trim ringoff (And stored it away). I thenstucktwopieces of rubber weather insulation on the inside lower portionofthe new trim ring andtightened it down. It's nowtight around the headlight frame and there is no gap. Good luck.

I picked one up and got it on. Was too big for my tastes...returned it.
