Default AMSOIL Recommendation 75w90

Just just had my 15000 maintenance performed. I had Amsoil Severe Gear 75w90 installed. So far, I can honestly tell you that this oil is making a difference! The transmission seems to be smoother, the 5th gear whine has diminished in intensity. I recommend the AMSOIL 75w90 for your primary and transmission.

A little overkill in the primary, but thats just my opinion. Amsoil also has a 75/110 for trannys now

Switched to Amsoil and it's definately much smoother shifting as well as a reduction in engine noise over Syn 3.

I'm thinking you didn't really mean the 75/90 SG in your primary.

I use the same stuff in my tranny. I didn't really notice much diff from Syn 3 when I changed over.

I run amsoil 20-50 in the engine and transmission. Living in florida I was told that I did not need the 75-90 in the transmission. It seems to be fine however things are noisier now than when I ran Redline shockproof in the xmsn. Any opinions?

Yep. I messed up. I wanted to say that I had the dealership put the 75w90 in the tranny and 20w50 in the primary...sorry.

I tried amsoil in my truck first. Reduced engine noise sold me on it so i used it in my boat engine and lower unit but playing with bike too much to go out on the boat. I had the 1k done on the bike and ran 400 miles and switched it to amsoil and i did notice that neutral was easier to find and gear box noise reduced so i will stick with it. Anyone using amsoil filter on their bike or do you use harleys?
