What is a good product to use to reinstall tank emblems or install new ones without factory adhesive on them?

I used 3m body molding tape. You can get it at almost any auto parts store in different sizes.

 

3M body molding tape, wipe down tank and emblems with rubbing alcohol first before putting tape on.

 

1+ the 3M double-sided tape.

I actually used 3M's VHB (very high bond) 0.045 thickness. I looks exactly like the stuff HD used on the orginal Street Glide emblems I was reattaching. I purchased it online from McMaster Carr.
