ORIGINAL: masterblaster

Was that shipped, does it come with locks
The paint matched TP was $599. ($560 without the pinstripe) the lock set was $20 and shipping for all was $22. That is less than $650 for everything except the mount and backrest. My local HD wanted $750 for just the TP plus tax at 6%. You don't have to pay that thru CHD unless you live in IL or pick it up at a store. For a bran new painted to match TP you cannot beat that.

I bought a used TP off ebay and by the time I added the hardware and had it painted it was going to cost me the same as a new one. Just something else to think about. The hardware is ridiculous in price and the HD paint is even worse! Bryan

Got this TP on Ebay for $365 with hinges and latches. Found the backrest for $150, rack for $99, hogtunes for under $400.

The color is black gel coat so no paint in necessary. Finish is perfect.

Ebay RULES!!!! Always check it first . . .

After I get a part #, I check Chicago Harley to see what it cost at MSRP minus 20%

http://chicagoharley.com/shop/

I also use a parts book for stock parts.

Now, get your CC out and buy, buy , buy! Enjoy.

mrbuck: I checked on the HD detachable latches using the kit break-down for the solo and detachable racks and the latch mechanism was listed as "not available for seperate sale." This was about a year ago, so the part may be available. Ipurchaseda pair from anebay seller, though I haven't received them yet:

Pingman,

In reply to your post, my issue with the Mutazu tour pak was that on my 2nd ride with the thing mounted (properly and with the luggage rack installed by me, drilled out properly, too, I may add) the lid started vibrating and squeeking and the corneres ofthe ABS plastic started to wear and turn to powder, ending up insie the pak. The 2nd ride, got stress cracks in the hole where the luggage rack was mounted. Chrome on the luggage rack is CRAP; started to peel. GRanted, it's only $110.00 but you'd think it would last a little better than that. That's what I get for going CHEAP! I'm doing it right the next time!

I amon the fence about that Matazu pack. Is PointMan's issue unique? I have heard that those who purchased the Matazu were satisfied for the most part. Is there anyone else out there that has had a BAD experience with the Matazu.

Please help soon, If I am going to order the HD pack I need 6 weeks lead time (winter here will be over by the time I get it and mount it).

Thanks all...
