Default Power outlet on Road King/customs

I'd like to install a power outlet on my 07 RK custom, but I'm sure in the **** not going to drill a 7/8 inch hole in my side cover like the directions on the power oulet says. Anyinput?

Depends on how you plan to use it. If its for charging cell phone or the like put it in your saddle bag. I have one running in my tour pack.

I thought about extending the wires on the outlet and routing to the saddle bag. Will be using for charging IPOD, phone etc. Thought about using the connection to hook to a battery tender.

Use your battery tender harness.

Get a corded outlet, cut the lighter plug off of the end and put a 4 way flat on it that matches your battery tender plug. Then, just plug in the outlet and drop it in a saddlebag when you need to use it.

I did the same thing, but use my heated gear harness.

Ditto to the Powerlet option.
I just received my chrome Powerlet adapter for my handlebars with wiring harness today in the mail. I'm going to hardwire it to the ACC switch this winter.
The chrome will blend right in with the handlebar-looks really awesome. When not in use a spring loaded cover seals the outlet.
I plan to use it for GPS, etc. I wanted a permanent powered outlet up front on my Road King.
They have lots of options, worth a look.

I did the same thing with an auxillary plug. Bought an auxillary plug from Walmart and cutthe wires, then crimped ends on the wire leadsthat fit into the battery tender harnessthat hangsabove the transmission. This way you canconnect into the harness with your female auxillary. Then insert the male plug into the auxillaryfrom yourelectrical device. Iset this configuration to make a small air compressor work with a cig. plugconnector,in case of a flat.
