If I remember correctly the '07's have a cam aligning featurethat automatically aligns the rear axle while you are tightening the belt tension. Aren't the '08's the same? You'd have to really go out of your way to misalign an '07 rear axle.

Soo..............if it ain't rear wheel alignment or a warped pulley, I'd be lookin' awfully close at motor/transmission alignment in the frame. You'd be amazed at what a couple of turns on the front or top heim link will do. When Doug gets the bike back he should take a long serious look at how the belt is travelin' on the new pulley. That thing popin' in the drive way is one thing, a loose metal ring & the belt wanderin' around at 70 in expressway traffic is another matter.................

RE: Rear pulley broke, 08 RG!!
My 05 RG split there the drive pulley. I think it happened while taking a left sweeper at about 50 MPH and the rear wheel tried to steer right. I bought the bike with 20K on it and the belt was definitely loose. Dealer says they've never seen before ;>}.
Anyway, the rear bearings also seem verytight but I don't know how easily they should spin. Once I replace that belt I hope to "trust"
the cornering because that one threw me for a loop when it happened.
Any advice other than the obvious proper belt tensioning would be appreciated.
