Default Brake Pads

Anyone have any suggestions on brake pads other than from HD? How they have performed and how many miles they lasted.

On my current ride I've only used HD's, and have not had great mileage on them, particularily the rears. Can't help you on your question on others.

My rear brake pads are squealing after only 1500 miles. It must be from heat glaze, though. They look like they still have plenty of pad left.

Also- anyone have problems with HD pads with POLISHED rotors? Any alternative recommendations?

EBC has some good pads with mileage comparable to HD.

Yeah, but you spend most ALL your time on the highway!

I got all but 12k on rears with over half of those miles riding with a sidecar. I guess it all depends on driver styles and how much you use the gears to help slow yourself down. The HD pads wore very even, so I stuck with them.

Never used anything but HD. Usually get about 25,000 out of the rear. Can't hardly wear out a set on the front, don't know if they are harder, or if its because there are two sets on the front.

Regards,

Bill
