The rubbermight sag after being in the sun. I would have cut mine down but installed two-up detachable docking hardware kit for tour-pak. I went digital under the faring. Works great unless you are in BFE.

There is a reccommended maximum amount you can cut off, from what I was told. It's the first thing I did when I got home. Ask your dealer how many inches you can cut without losing any reception, thenwhack it. Nice and short, looks good, works great.
