Just HIDE IT under the fairing and ya never have to wprry about it again... I use a Tunetrapper but have also heard some great things about ones you can pick-up at the auto parts store like Pep-Boys for under $20.00...

If you want to save money, just measure and cut to the lengthyourexisting antenna. Be sure to remove the antenna screw from the base with an allen head keyand cut from the bottom. Reinsert the antena base, tighten the screw and you're done. It takes 5 minutes or less to do will cost you nothing.

I tried the overpriced ($75) Dakota Digital at first....it sucked. Gave it away. Then pick'd up the Tune Trapper for less than half. Delivers much better reception thru out the scenic by-ways of Can-Tuck-Eee. Such a metropolis, ya know.

I have the Dakota Digital under the fairing. It seems to work okay. I usually listen to XM radio (that antenna is also under the fairing) or just enjoy the almost abnoxious rumble of the the Hooker Pipes!

I use a Dakota Digital, no probs...kinda pricey though. There's a guy on Ebay selling "powered hidden antennas" for $25 bucks...looks like the Dakota, just doesn't have the Dakota sticker. I would have bought one if I had known about them beforehand. My buddy picked one up, so the guy isn't going to rip you off.

I think his Ebay ID is: antennaX If you wanna do a search.

I've had J & M's for over a year. Look great. However, they do cut your radio reception on the fringe areas a bunch. Places I had no problem getting reception with the whips are no go with the J & M's. City riding = no problem. CB reception is near non existent. I talk back and forth with others in my group. One half mile is pretty much max. But.....they still look good.

I got these exact ones and now I can walk around the bike without getting poked in the eye. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2-Tri...spagenameZWDVW
There has been no difference in radio reception. Can't speak for C/B though as I don't use it.

I got a amplifiied Antenna from Crutchfield online which I hid in the fairing. It cost about 20 bucks and it works.
