I was wondering how much weight, and comfort is it on a SG.
Me: 330 lbs; wife: 180 lbs.......Avon tires: I have to check the rating. I rode a yr w/o the OL...she wants to ride now.

But anyone else ride 2-up with our sizes with no/any problems?????
Dude...Go on a freakin diet. You don't need a Harley, You need a dump truck. [sm=lol.gif] What possessed you to buy a Harley when you KNOW your going to look like a michelin man on a mopad. MAN you take hauling *** SEARIOUSLY . Lots of ***. [sm=laughingsmilie.gif] . Man... when you get up to dance....the whole dam band skips.

I would look hard at Progressive 440's or a GOOD Air Ride System or move into 13" shocks as the SG already has lower shocks then the other glides...

Eat less and exercise and enjoy your Harley and wife for a good long time to come.

When I got my bike, I weighed 364 lbs. I am now down to 300. My wife is not at her "marriage" weight. She will not tell me, but I bet she is close to 200. Still beautiful, and always will be.

I have a rk custom. It has the same shocks your bike does. I run 30-33 psi in the shocks all the time, one up, or two up. I haven't had an issue, at all (knock on wood). The ride is great, and I have no complaints. Sure, you can get taller shocks, or new ones, all together. But, I have had a lot more weight on my bike than you will, and all is good.I saw a sticker on a bike in a magazine. "Eat right, exercise, die anyways". Just be happy, man. I am sure the bike will hold the two of you. I do know I am pushing the weight limit on my bike, but as I drop weight, I don't notice any difference in the way the bike handles, or rides.

As far as HD Attitude goes... well, it's in his name. He was poking fun, and that is how I took it, so don't you take it any other way. "Don't let the bastards get ya down", LOL

Feel free to PM me anytime. Us fat guys are becoming the majority. LOL

Not quite as big: I'm around 190-200, I have no idea my wife's weight, but she's a mother of four. With the King tour pack fully loaded for a weekend jaunt, we don't bottom out and the suspension feels fine. I run the air shocks at 40 with luggage full. Every 10 lbs of pressure makes quite a difference on those shocks. I think you'd be comfortable enough, but just for good measure, you might want to go ahead and get the suspension back to where it should be with the shocks from one of the other 'Glide models - the SG shocks are just under an inch shorter..

I used to know a guy that was Rodman813's size with a wife that was the size of Rodman's 813 wife.
He had an iron head sportster. They were quite a site.He had the shocks and tires and someextra welds here and there. He just loved loved Sportsters. You couldn't get him to buy a big twin.
So if he could manage that trick Rodman813 and wife should have no problem working out the seating and suspension on a SG.
Ride on Big Man !!!!!!

I would recomend the standard length shocks. I am sure a member would trade you a set of standard for a lower set.
I think this would be a good idea unless you want to buy the progressive shocks.

Im a big guy myself and just think there comes a time when riding double just isnt worth the risk. Unless it involves giving my nephews a ride around the block or whatever, I just dont really have passengers. If Im able to drop some tonnage, Ill change that.l
