Hmm, I too like the silver. I must say I have seen some silver engines that are a different color of silver. Mine seems to be bright but others are a darker duller color. The darker ones don't seem to look as good. This is coming from a fan of the black and chrome, not just because I have silver. Wonder if HD did a change in the motor color or whatever way they do the engine, is it paint or just a ruff aluminum??? Anyways, I have had some problems with the black flaking off in the past. Maybe it was just mine but I thinkwith the silver, it is one less thing to worry about or fix.

I like the silver as well. I didn't at first, but when I saw it against the blue I liked it. Now that it is home and i can mess around with it i like it more everyday. have played over some customizing in my head and think it can really be a good looking bike. Bought it for the ride (and the wife) but I am excited about the possibilities.

The Silver will Flake off just like the Black. My first HD was a Softail Standard, and IMOP it was probably the ugliest model HD ever came out with. $10,000 later it was just how I pictured it in my head. After 3 years and 20,000 miles the Silver behind all that Chrome looked like sh*t. Man [sm=confused06.gif]I really miss that Bike.

My old FLHT is just a Raw aluminum EVO that had stains, grease, grime and oil all over it when I picked it up. A couple cans of brake cleaner and 2 or 3 scotch brite pads and it is now a clean, dull , raw old EVO.
I like it, no need to polish it, easy to see if there are any leaks and it'seasy to clean up after working on it. If it was a black and chrome I wouldn't complain at all, but when I see my buddies old glide with the black paint fading and/or flaking off and the chrome pitted from years of riding, it just looks beat on compared to raw aluminum that is scotch brited and clean...
