05 Electra Glide Standards
Hi there - thanks to everyone for all the good information on this site, a lot of it has been very helpful and entertaining to say the least.
I picked up a 2005 EG Standard, finally able to put the 76' Iron head away (for a little while) . I don't see that much in the way of any issues or concerns that the 05 had and anything that stands out to pay extra attention to. So I'm assuming this was a good year for HD and ride it like ya stole it!

RE: 05 Electra Glide Standards
Actually there is one issue with the '05 that comes to mind. It may or may not be an issue for you. For '05 (and I believe some '06) there was an issue with the valve seals. What happens is that the bike might start to burn some oil. I have a '05 rk custom, and I am burning about a quart-quart and a half every 1k miles, or so. HD allows for 1 qt every 1500 miles. Again, this might not be an issue for you, and I hope it isn't, just something that you might want to be aware of, and something to keep an eye on.
Good luck with the bike, and congratulations.
