Looks like everybody up there is frozen or something. I've got 08 RK here in beautiful East Tennessee. Has ride by wire though>>1000 miles.

The throttle by wire is a little different. There apparantly is a flat spot in the first part of the roll on when done fast. Your brain will change the timing and speed of the roll on to start it slightly sooner before releasin the clutch. Mine was irritating at first but I have since adjusted to it. The second thing is with the speed control. With the fly by wire the throttle has to be turned to the spot where you set it before acceleration starts. With the cable type it starts as soon as you twist the throttle. Neither one of these problems is a big issue IMO. However something to consider is that now you have one more electrical system that can malfunction and be expensive to repair because the number of expensive components involved compared to cables. That is yet to be seen since none have had to be fixed outside of warranty yet. The only reason I have read that HD went to this was to make the cruise better. I thought the old way worked fine. T.

The cruise I recently installed on my 03 FLHTCI is a little annoying. I really like it, but feeling the throttle move on its own takes some getting used to.

supposedly the new throttle system will not allow the rider to lug the motor severely, which in the moco's opinion, will lengthen engine life.

I rode mine about 700 miles and could not tell any difference in response. The only differenceI could notice iswhen thecruise is on the grip doesn't turn when the cruise adds power

It is fine and very smooth, all these pseudo complaints are figments of the imagination!
