John
I have traded my 06 RKC for a Anniversary Ultra w ABS.. The primary reason I did this was that I in june lost control of my RKCwhile emergency braking I hit the road and the RKC took some serious beating... Not Nice !!!
Don't judge the ABS on what happens when you pull the brake on a new bike on the floor...Every time you take off calipers - you press the brakepads in to make room for removal. After remounting you have to pump the brake several times to get the brakepads close enough to the rotors to actually brake....
I have ridden a 08 RKC with ABS - it works fantastic... I rode 70mph whenI pulled the brakereally hard.. Itpulsateda bit in my hand and foot - and thebike just stopped.. After that I would not even considera 08 without ABS... Trust me - It could save your life !
MOCO have teamed up with Brembo to make this system.. Brembo knows their stuff !!!.. The old ABS on the Police bikes is to my knowledge a converted system from some car - and the clear disadvantage is that it takes about half the spacein theleft saddlebag... Apparantly this have been no problem for the Police - buton a civilian bike I think it would be considered a joke tosell a bagger where half of one of the bags is occupied by factory equipment
