i have a garmin 2610 that is a great unit. although out of production, you can still get refurbished ones on the net for around $200. If all you want is a GPS, this is a great buy/system. Waterproof and runs on a SD card rather than a hard drive that may be affected by vibration. I use mine all the time, both on the bike and in the car when traveling on business. great GPS for the $.

RE: GPS
It all depends! I always get an extended warranty on electronics, especially when something cost this much money. Garmin gives you a 1 year warranty. If something happens after that well.................
When I got my GPS unit I got it from Frys Electronics with a walk in 3 year replacement extended warranty. In other words if something happens, I walk my unit in and get another one.
You may just want to check into the extended warranty if it is not too late.

I'm using a cyclegadget.com mount and a Garmin hard power cable kit from Radio Shack. I have the power cord attached tothe wire that powers the cigarette lighter under the fairing.

RE: GPS
My only bitch about the zumo is the lack of documentation on how to download or up load points of interest and use the SD card etc, if you are ignorant like I am.
I bought the DVD on using the zumo, and could have saved the money cause I had already figure out all the stuff the dvd covers, but have heard of neat features from the zumo forum that I don't really know how to use or work with yet. They should have a online tutorial that covers all aspects of zumo usage, right down to using your computer with it to program things in and also to program the SD cards for max efficiency.
I still get plenty of use out of it though.
Now if you can find one that does what the zumo does, and cook, do dishes and suck a ....well you be sure to let me know, cause I'm in for all that

Two thumbs for the zumo 550. This is my second GPS unit and the 550 is tops in my book.
azhole: Did your zumo come with the MapSource DVD? If so and you haven't already, load the MapSource software onto your computer and read the MapSource manual. It explains how to create routes, POIs, etc in MapSource and then upload them to your zumo.
