Default Screaming Eagle "Heavy Breather" AC

Guys I am really digging the Heavy Breather air cleaner, but my dealer is telling me that it is only for 08 and later. Is that true, I thought I saw it in a parts book last year and it would fit my 04 RG. Can anyone please confirm that I can use it, and if you have the part number I would appreciate it.

Thanks

I saw the ones for the older models on ebay - M & M Cycles I believe.

There are many companies that sell the same style, but harleys is only for the 08, it will not fit the smaller throtle body on older models.

That's odd. When I bought my '08 FLHX in September I ordered the heavy breather. Was told the ones for the '08 models were on back order. Were available for earlier models at that time but not the '08's. But I have learned to take everything I am told at the stealership with a large grain of salt.

The "heavy Breather" is the L shaped cone with exposed breather, is this what you bought or did you buy the SE air cleaner which is available for all year models?

That is weird, I can swear I was at the dealer for a service seminar over ayear ago and they were talking about it. It was just as the 07's were released. Hmmm Now I am more confused then normal.... LOL

I think they were available for earlier models. The reason they were on BO for the 08's was because of the TB size change.

I am not sure if the HD branded unit is aval. for the pre 08' models, but the MOCO is using "Forcewinder" intake's and labeling them with the SE logo. I have heard that the HD unit has better flowcharacteristics than the Forcewinder, but I have yet to see any proof. In any case....a good riding buddy has 05' Road King with one (Forcewinder), and it works very well with the 95" kit he had installed. These two intakes (SE & Forcewinder) are identical.....even down to the rain sock. Check this out
