I'm curious about the 9 1/2" number. On my bike the tire hits the fender at 9 1/2". I've mocked up 9 1/2" shocks several times to no avail. I'm currently running 10 1/2" shocks and a set of 10" units would work out well. I'd also liketo see more than 2 1/2" of travel.

9.5" compressed shock can cause fender/wire harness contact. Here is my swingarm with 3/4" shock mount extensions...eliminating contact issues & allowing a fully slammed profile. 2.5" travel is ideal...at full extension you add air as required. Ask me how I know?

 

Donny, that's a great idea! I put a new wide fender on my bike and it rides a little lower than stockand I know 9.5" shocks aretoo short for me too. I have the older version swingarm, but the same idea could be applied. I'm gonna have to talk to my machinist buddy about this! Thanks!

9.5" shock length will cause rubbing. I believe the folks here, stating this as the truth. Yet, Arnott, with their engineering dept, would have caught this, right?
