I've only been seriously posting here for about 6 months. Every week I see the same posts, exhaust, more power, handlebars, wheels, ect. I'm also a member at svtperformance.com, mainly in the New Edge Cobra section. A couple of the more knowledgable/experianced members did several write ups addressing FAQ's on the site. Then, they were made stickies. It is awesome information that can be updated. This gets rid of alot of posts about the same thing. Sometimes, people get tired of seeing the same posts, and don't respond. I think that may drive some members away. I understand everyone is a noob at one point, I'm jess sayin that if there was a one stop shop for all the most basic questions, that would be awesome. Thoughts?

Good idea, just not sure how big of a change that is. BUT....as long as we are talking about changes here, sure would be nice if something could be done to keep the viewing/reading pane from extending twice the width of my 19-inch monitor....some kind of wrap around or something so a person doesn't have to use the bottom scroll bar to go back and forth just to read a message. Actually when I get into a thread like that I usually just exit because its too much of a pain to try read.

'search' mode, works for me.

Wind-up has a good ideasecond it.

I'd like to see some way to pack more of the responses into a single page, instead of having click on so many pages to get to the last most recent post on the topic, or maybe a click on icon to start at the last post and work back.

Click on the last page number on the main page of the the thread you want and it takes you there.

Great ideas, but the sad fact is on every board I've ever been associated with over the years, except for a small percentage of readers, the FAQs and search function go unused.

That could be solved by posters not embedding graphics larger than allowed or putting the repeating smileys past the normal right margin.

Every forum I belong to is the same, the new guys ask the same questions over and over. It would be nice if the did a search first then asked any question they did not get answered but that would require some work But then if the did, this forum would pretty much dry up, cause everything you could possibly think of doing to a harley has been beat to death and answered many hundreds of times.

You can go to the last post on a topic by clicking on the little folder next to the name in the far right, Last Post colume in the list of threads.

a better search page, I often know there has been a thread related to a question, when I try to search i cant find it on the first attempt. just make a better search with less restrictions then make an advanced page separate.

I always try the search function first. 9 times out of 10 I find my answer. Unfortunately, many don't do that. They just jump in and post that redundant exhaust question. Of course, the market is always changing there is always room for that new/old exhaust question, so it simply won't go away. I do like the idea of the continually upgraded stickies. A notation as to it's last upgrade would help as well. I used to frequent Nightrider and found a lot of good info, but there are long stretches between updates. I get a kick out of the 'I'm looking at a purple dew rag-whaddya think?' questions....Crazy.
