Default Corbin Dual Tour backrest

I just go my new corbin dual tour seat for my r.k. I was wondering how the drivers backrest works for this seat. I was think of ordering one, Does it simply slide into the square tube under the "corbin" tag? What holds is in there? I went to the websight, and they really dont have any good info. Also is anyone making other backrests that will work with this seat?

I had the same seat on my Heritage. The rider backrest drops right in(under the tag) and is held in place by a thumscrew(size 20, I think). I never used the screw, it was an inconvenience because you had to take the seat off to secure it, then take it off again to take it off. The guys at Corbin told me that the main reason you would want to secure it would be to prevent theft and that it was commonly used w/o.

I believe that thumbscrew was also for the forward adjustment of the backrest. So drop it in and if its comfortable you can skip the screw but if you need to move it forward more you will need to screw it!

you are right. I forgot about the adjustment. I just dropped it in and left it. If I was worried about it, I just put it in the saddlebags when i left the bike parked somewhere. I did like that seat and backrest a lot.....very comfortable.
