wow that is a lot of info!

That is one of the GREAT things about this forum. It is not just a place to shoot the breeze, but also it is a gold mine, no the mother lode, of information. The search function is great. That is how I found the link I posted. I just did a search for Trouble Codes.

The more time you spend here, the more familiar you will become with the features here. Some people are addicted to this place. The ten most addicted are listed on the right side of your screen.

did you get your bike running right?
ORIGINAL: 4Scott4

i have a 97 fuel injected road king.. it runs great! never had a problem till today!

to start i washed it yesterday[>:]

after washing i parked it and rode it this afternoon for the first time since the wash.. it fired right up and ran fine but when i give it a quick gas it sputters... then it come thru and is fine.. like when i shift and release the clutch then twist the gas to go it spits and sputters for a second.. my brother was behind me and said when it sputtered it puffed a small amount of black smoke..

any ideas!

thamks!!!

You would have better success using this one for your year bike, that other one is for the later models.. https://www.hdforums.com/m_64805/tm.htm

Your bike will not show any stored codes, just current ones. Don't rule out the front injector wire either.
