I guess it depends on your commute; around the Washington DC metro area you would cook that motor the first rush hour the temp rose above 85 degrees.

I do! As long as there's no slippery stuff on the road and if it's not raining. I'm not scared to ride in the rain it's just a pain to clean it up afterwrds. And it's a long walk to where I work. As long as it's safe and you can be comfortably warm I say go for it! It's not like you don't have the extra room for extra clothes

Hey Bwana, there's a reason so many LEO's ride the big HD's in the heavy city traffic! I've had mostly big FL's for the 42 years I been on the front seat. These things are designed for slow tight maneuvering! If you haven't seen the Ride Like A Pro dvd yet, get it! You won't believe what you can do with an Ultra! Don't even think twice about getting one.........I have the Classic, cause that's the one I wanted, but the Ultra is the same thing with a few more bells and whistles. There is nothing better, more comfortable or more versatile...........it will handle short little in town trips with ease, and when you head out on the highway for a long road trip, nothing comes close! Have fun, enjoy the new FL!

Ask Frank, one of the mechanics at Consolidated Diesel {Cummins Inc.} Rocky Mount NC. about his ride. 96 Ultra 176,000 ++++ miles and the same pistons it came with. Just 1 set of rings. Broke one trying to replace the bottom jug seals. He rides 35 miles each way to work, rain or shine. Only exception is ice.
