RE: Ultra as daily commuter?
Daily driver no, but when I do ride to work it is mostly on my EG classic ( ok no CB, no cruise not as many toys) but I have tunes, throttle lock, soft removeable lowers, and the fork baffle that make it very comfy for riding, as long as I am not in stop and go traffic on an interstate... too hot, too much of a chance of being sandwiched between cages in an accident.
The rice bike is a better around town bike, but the wind protection on the highway is zero, plus I have gotten used to tunes on the bike. My Pickup gets 13 MPG, the explorer and the porsche are good for about 19 mpg, my toyota gets 28 mpg,the jap bike is good for 40 MPG as is the HD, but I can carry civilian clothes, full faced and skid lids, gloves, jackets, to keep me comfy going to work in the cold but riding home in the warmth, etc etc, etc.
