My 08 RKC has what sounds like valve noise to me that comes and goes. With hydraulic lifters, is it valve noise? or is something else ticking away in there? I know fuel injectors clatter, can I assume that some of the noise is coming from the injector(s)? The bike sure seems to run sweet though. It's getting better with mileage.

 

I've asked this before and never gotten any 3 people to agree on what exactly the "normal" ticking is.

 

Whatever you do, do not let someone convince you that it is normal if you are not happy with the situation. If it is an issue to you, be sure you get the right people involved to figure it out. My wifes bike had a ticking and it got worse. It ended up being an issue with the cams. MOCO put in a new motor.It may be nothing but you spent the money and should be happy and satisfied.Hope you get it worked out.

 

Once I put the thunderheader slip ons on mine it fixed the noisy lifters!!

 

Mine quited down quite a bit when I changed to Mobil 1 20/50 oil. I use it in engine and primary and Redline Shockproof heavy in the transmission. After 20,000 miles it helped. Dan
