If you ever forget your barrel key remember this - everyone else's Harley barrel key will work in YOUR gas tank lid and vice versa. They are universal. But, of course, only yours will work in your own ignition (obvious, but what the hell). It's 12 below this morning in Minnesota - be a while before we ride!

tour box organizer
hello all
alot of great ideas here but didnt see this one
all my junk was rattling aroung my tour box..........
so i bought a "bucket boss" or some odd bucket organizer
pick one that has all pockets and not one that has alot of loops
with a straight edge i cut the exterior pockets from the interior pockets
applied 2" industrial velcro and stick them onto the sides of the box
if you need more pockets that that.................you pack way too much junk
the bucket organizer that i bought had 3 layers of pockets of all different sizes------more than plenty room for all your gadgets
keep up the good work here

For those of you that have the key fob security system and would like to add a siren or wire your bikes horn into the system here is what i did.
I picked up two 5 prong relays at the auto parts store. Under the fairing I wired up by the diagram I attached. I know this drawing looks busy but it is really not that bad. I could have used one relay and depended on horn power from the security system but I didn't know if it would supply enough current over time and not ruin the security system. With the second relay I am able to pull 12 volts to the horn. If you do not want to use your horn you can wire into a siren of your choice instead of splicing into the horn power wire.
Total cost less than $9.00.

Spare key. I store a spare key inside one of the side coversecured with string. I learned it from a buddy and it paid off one day when in New Orleans off burbon street when I returned to the bike I noticed I could not find the key to the bike. Thank goodness I had the key hid or I would have been screwed. Later the key was found in my wifes purse. Go figure!
