RE: "\\\\\\;DIY MODS"\\\\\\; WAY TO GO :)
Bought the OL a 08 Street Glide and realized she needed something to hold paperwork and all her loose stuff in an organized fasion in her saddle bag. I wasn't going to pay the stealer for the HD organizer. \\;\\\\\\; Went to Home Depot to get some stuff to lock the bags on and there it was, a HD nail apron for .99 We brought one home, held it up in the bag, market the holes, put eyelets in them then put the pins through eyelets to hold back in place. \\;\\\\\\; Next I stretched it out and took out the lid hook retainer screws and put them through the bag. \\;\\\\\\; A little velcro at the bottom and viola, an instant organizer for less than $1 ( I had the velcro). \\;\\\\\\; We are gonna mod it by sewing the 2 nail pockets vertically in half for seperate compartments. \\;\\\\\\; I will post pics later today.

Protect the screw that holds down the seat!!!! I got tired of Fu!@#ng around trying to get the darn screw off to take off the seat.... I went to Tractor Supply and for about .50 cents picked up 2 different lengths of THUMB SCREWS,,,,, found the right length one, put a plastic washer on it,, \\;and threw the HD seat screw away....NOW.... easy to take off with no screw driver,,, no scratching of fender,, and easy to put back in.....

Decided to make a way to lock my bags on so they spring couldn't be pryed and bag lifted. \\;\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\\\\\; Went to Home Depot, picked up a couple of clevis pins and spring clips. \\;\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\\\\\; Took the bag off, pulled off the back retaining spring clip, cut off the spring, put bag back in place and lock with origninal front pin. \\;\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\\\\\; Next, I inserted the clevis pin from the bike side, through the clip, the rubber grommet into the bag, slipped on the washer off the original pin and then put in the spring clip. \\; I will mark the pin just past the spring clip and cut the pin off.

Here's my 5$ drink holder since I don't drink much coffee and soda it's perfect for me. \\; I got your standard bicycle water bottle holder that you screw onto the bike frame and standard hose clamp with slight modification.
 \\;
The three slots is where the hose clamp is slide through the first set of slots were 1" apart. \\; Too wide so I cut a second slot to the distance of 3/4" from the top slot, just right.

RE: "\\\\\\;DIY MODS"\\\\\\; and TRICKS to SAVE $$$$$$
Here's a suggestion for an alternative to Kuryakyn adjustable passenger pegs for touring bikes. I bought a 12" piece of 1/2" black iron pipe, 4 elbows, 2 caps, and 2 u-bolts at the local hardware. Mounted the pipe on the plate behind the rear cylinder by drilling 4 holes for the u-bolts (not visible from a casual glance). Put 2 elbows on each end of the pipe. \\;Drilled holes in the middle of the caps to bolt on an old pair of HD peg mounts and pegs and then screwed them on to the elbows. Painted gloss black. It works as intended and actually gives the passenger more stretching room than Kuryakyns. Adjustable (with a pipe wrench!) for a variety of positions. If you wanted even more room, you could add a short section of nipple pipe between the elbows. Goes on and off fairly easily, and you cannot tell anything has been done to the bike when it is off.
