I have an '05 Ultra and thinking of getting the Gilbos440rt (forummember).

Does your iPod work worth a schat? I would be using the aux connection, orULTRAmitly be hard wiring to the rear of theradio if I liked the sound. Just wondering the the sound was worth using. My radio and CDputs out great sound, is the iPod music the same, or crap.

 

I never leave without my ipod. I use the AUX jack on the front of the radio and it actually sounds better than the radio because the ipod has its own amplifier so the misic can be played even louder than the radio alone. And you have more EQ capabilities w/the ipod.

I would highly reccomend using one.

61panhead, I se you have the mount i was talking about. The "Vertabae" mount. Is it chromed, or did it come that polished?

 

The I-Pod sounds better than the radio or CD on my 05, much louder if you turn up the volume on the I-Pod then turn up the factory radio andso clear! I don't leave home without mine 61panhead chromed his, they come lightly polished, does look good chromed or Black powdercoated for sure!

 

I had mine chromed for $30.

It looked OK in it's original satin polish aluminum, butthe chrome really sets it off.

 

I have an older I-pod that has a hard drive in it. The vibrations freeze it up sometimes, but other than that its great.
