Default Not very Mechanical

I am not the best at mechanical issues, but I bought my battery tender and heated gear. I was looking at my Manual for how to access the Battery so I can wire these things, and It really does not tell you. before I go taking apart my bike, can someone point me in the right direction - I know i have to take the seat off, just not sure if it is tricky or easy. any help would be appreciated. thanks.

it is very easy. Remove the screw located at the back on the seat then slide the seat back and take it off. you will see the battery right away when you get the seat off.

The battery tender plugs into the little black wire thats capped off hanging from the right side of the seat.

I would say that if you looked in a manual to remove the seat you might want to get help.

easy install - remember to disconnect the negative terminal first and reconnect it last.

There is no "little black wire thats capped off hanging from the right side of the seat". That is what you will install as a part of hooking up the Battery Tender.

You may want to talk with others who have installed heated gear to see if they recommend a fused connection.

If you still have your safety strap across you seat the first thing you are going to have to do is open the left side saddle bag and remove the screw that holds the strap in place. And then you can remove the rear screw holding the seat and slide it back and off.

That little pigtail that you plug the battery tender into is not a stock item. Usually the dealer will install it (just the pigtail), so all you have to do is to buy the tender. I know they do it at my local dealer as part of the assembly and prep....at least on the touring models that are sold after the end of Summer they do.

My RK's have the positive starter stud on top, remove the plastic coverclip on it, and ground on any bolt.It takes less than a minute.Sooneror later I plan on installing a 12v accs outlet to make it even easier.
