Heritage Bars on RG.. year & PN #?
Going to be moving to a set of Heritage bars on my Road Glide. I went by the dealer last week and sat on a Heritage Softail and a Wide Glide and the Heritage bars are my choice. That said, can anyone give me info as to a part number or what specific years will fit my 06? Also, any install tips or suggestions ? Pics... ?
Thanks

same yr as yours ,no biggie take off old ones put on the new.Be careful with controls they will fall directly on the front fender, loosen up the torx screws and slip them off, hold on to the existing bar and take off the top mount on yr risers.then reverse everything an put her back together. BE VERY SURE NOTHING BINDS, START IT UP AND MOVE THE FRONTEND LOCK TO LOCK TWO OR THREE TIMES TO MAKE SURE. YOU DONT EVEN WANT A STUCK THROTTLE IN THE MIDDLE OF A SLOW TURN.

I put the heritage bars on my RG, and they fit me well.
Somewhere there is a tip on trimming the speedo housing with a dremel to gain access to the riser bolts withouth having to remove the entire housing... saves time.
stock cables will fit, but you will need to straighten the hard brake line at the front master cylinder just a bit to gain enough slack. I was not able to use the cable clips at the bottom of the bars, had to leave them off to gain enough slack.
all in all, was a very easy swap.

I had issues with the cable clips as well until I cut the zip ties holding the cables under the handle bar clamp. Doing that allowed me to pull the extra cable up towards the bars and then use the stock clips to secure the cables to the bars. Not really a difficult install and sure made a difference in comfort.
