RE: Anyone know/been a victim of Theft at Sturgis
Been going to Sturgis for years (20+)... And you WILL LOSE a few things...
Lose Time (there will never be enough)
Lose Money (you'll spend & spend & spend)
Lose your mind if not careful (watch out for Ti--Y Alley - Or sit to close to smokers during the concerts (yea baby))
You can even lose your respect (maybe - but ya have to try hard - remember it's a biker thing)
Lose anything on your bike while.... Not likely...
A FEW THINGS NOT TO DO WHILE IN STURGIS:
Pee in the streets
Flash Downtown
Puke in the streets
Speed downtown
You're more likely to lose stuff while on the road getting and returning to Sturgis then at the Rally - Friend 2 years ago lost his Fatboy while parked in the Motel Parking Lot in Flagstaff, Az. No alarm he did lock the forks - parked away from his room and in the morning it was gone...

Whats the best lock to use on the bike???
COBRA LOCKS..... I carry one and so does my son (when we take extended trips) and we can lock up 4 bikes together... We'll only use then for overnite stays - I also carry a 40Cal and that's seems to work well also (LOL)

YEP..........Never UNDERESTIMATE THE STUPIDTY OF THE HUMAN ANIMAL........Im the guy you watch ride by with the cable wrapped around my chest to tie it to my bike to the wifes bike.....say what you will, i WILL be ridin the next day.
Motel= Bottom Floor.Campground=Bikes locked to each other.
Watch signs for "NO PARKING", cops love to write.
Dont park next to sidewalk on strip, people love to touch.
Dont park next to Titty Alley after 10:00 pm,unless you're the naked broad pullin holeshots.
Light smoke of choice and open favorite beverage and enjoy but not all three at once.
See ya there

Insurance... It does a Harley good...
I'd agree with pretty much all that was said here too.. Nobody wants to have their trip ruined, but making sure your bike is properly insured before you go so that you KNOW you will be made whole again should some low life or other unforeseen event take away your sled.
See you guys in Sturgis...
