Default Vance @ Hines Pro Pipe BP

Everyone seems to like slip on mufflers or some other type of pipes.Stock pipes with crossover is heavy and creates unneccessary heatnear the rear cylinder.
I have used the pro pipe HS on my Heritage softail and it worked well. PC3usb and pro pipe created loads of torque (73hp @ 75t) off a dyno run for a stock TC88. Sounded great too.Price under $500for new V&H bp pipe.
I will be installing pro pipe BP on my 08 FLHX in the spring. I already have an SERT for the FLHX and studying the users manual. By the way, the SERT tuning is not difficult to understand and I will be doing the tuning myself....What is wrong with the pro pipe?????

I hope nothing. I should be picking up my 2008 Ultra later this week with the pro pipe installed.

I run a Pro Pipe on my 01 Ultra and my only complaint is the muffler turned gold back near the baffle. I understand the BP stands for "blue proof" and it has a full coverage heat shield over the entire muffler. I'd like some feedback on how you like the new pipe after you've put some miles on it.

I actually talked to a tech at V&H and he basically told me that the company went backwards with the BP. True, it won't blue but the performance went down. In fact, he told me thet their true duals wil perform as good as the Propipe. Kind of interesting, as the main reason people go to the 2- 1 is for performance. Just what I was told - take it how you want to!!!

I put them on my bike when I went 103 soI can't say what gains I got from the pipe alone. It does have more of dragster growl than than the deeper lumpity exhaust note of Rinehart TD's, I've had those too. Fit and finish is good. I've put about 800 miles on them with no complaints.

I had them on a 107 build and lost over 10/10 compared to a roadrage pipe. Both runs were by same tuner on same days. The HS version is great, but no 0's ports. The bp may be good for a stock stage 1 bike.....

I've added the V&H 2-into-1 as part of the stage 1 for my '08 Ultra. I only have 1700 miles on it, but they seem fine. They have a great low tone sound, but are a little too loud for the wife. I'm not sure if they're the best performers, but the guys in the shop thought it worked out fine after the dynotune. Feels like plenty of power.

The BP does not have a flow-thru baffle like the HS. Instead it has a plate that forces exhaust flow through smaller holes/louvers in the baffle. TheBP was too restrictive for my bike. I went to Home Depot and rented an impact drill with a 1 1/2" drill bit. It punched through theplatemaking it easier to tap out the welds and removing the plate completely. It flows freely now.Bike isback in the shop for remapping/dyno tuning. If you don't care for loud pipes, don't try this at home.

I have the ProPipe on my RoadGlide and love it! Does anyone know if V&H offers a performance baffle for the BP version?

Thanks.

No other baffles available for the BP at this time. Verified that with V&H tech support.
