Take some of the fatgirl money and customize the glide. If you add some custom wheels, and do a motor kit, say at least a strong 103 or 113 from a good aftermarket shop you will soon forget about the fatgirl. I missed my fatboy, but now i have it all in my glide, power, looks, radio, bags, and comfort, i call it my cadilac. It is a blast when you leave the light wth those softails and when they catch you sitting at the next light and ask what do you have in that thing since you just smoked them on a bagger.

I sold my first HD(Softail Std)back in 2004 to Buy my Road King.At the time I had to sell it to aford the RK. I had over $25,000 invested in my Softail and I didn't get anywhere near $20,000 for it if I did I'd feel pretty dam good about it today.

Your Fat Girlwas a Softail..... Been there / Done that / Never going back again
Except for the fact that your bike was a 100th anniversary edition (best anniversary color of them all,and the 100th's a true anniversary) no big deal.
Your Fat Girl was a great looking bike (so was my softail) but softails are more about looks than performance, the Touring bikes ride & handle better andlookcool whenset up right.

Tough question and all good answers - as you see from the range of answers, the answer for every bro is somewhat different. It depends on you. For example, for me, to this day I still wish I had my '02 tricked out Night Train, which I sold to payoff and get a cruiser (police E-glide). I don't regret it, I just wish I still had the badboy bar hopper.
So - I decided to build a custom from ground up, and now have the best bad *** bar hopper (old school rigid shovelhead bobber). So you see, it all depends on the guy and what we do with our decisions! I say ebrace it and move on the the "next" step, whatever that is for you. Cheers.
